About the Instructor

Jen is a certified qigong instructor with the Forest Rock Monastery School. They are continuing studies with Master Mingtong Gu in the Zhineng Lineage and have completed training in Medical Tai Chi and Qigong at the Royal North Shore Hospital with Dr Beongsang Oh and iMTQA. Jen has also completed a Bachelor Degree in Neuroscience which included units of study in physiology, anatomy, histology, biochemistry, psychology and neurobiology.

Backstory

Jen is immensely grateful to have found qigong over a decade ago when seeking treatment for chronic headaches and musculoskeletal pain. They found that qigong not only helped with their physical pain, but also helped reduce psychological stress and emotional dis-regulation, whilst increasing overall feelings of wellbeing and connection.

Cultural Acknowledgement

Jen acknowledges that qigong is a sacred practice from a culture that is not their own. They understand the ways in which their white/Western culture has misappropriated, stolen from and caused immense harm to people of diverse cultures through time.

Jen hopes to share the practice of Qigong with utmost care and respect for the Masters, lineages and cultures of origin that it comes from.
